The legendary Country – Punk and Roll band is back for another earth shattering show! Joining them will be the surf / rockabilly band Haut Chachis!! This duo makes for a great lineup and a killer night!
My Mother The Carjacker’s music is deeply rooted in the vein of punk, rock, jam and grunge (Primus, System of a Down, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Rise Against, Ninjaspy), the songwriters are unafraid of melding any form of music into their songs as long as it’s enjoyable, accessible and feels good. Jazz, funk, grunge and 30′s big band mixed together? No problem. Drum’n’bass influenced hard rock infused with ska interludes? You got it. Straight up alternative rock? Hey, that’s fun too! But no matter what, songwriting is key.
The Dragstrip Devils:
The Dragstrip Devils are a rockabilly/psychobilly trio based out of Kelowna, British Columbia. This rockabilly trio loves fast cars, hot licks and pin-up chicks! Influenced by your favorites Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Johnny Burnett with an added twist, their songs will make you want to rip it up and hit that dance floor with your baby. The band consists of upright bassist and lead singer Neil fronting the trio. We have Brett on lead guitar and quick picking fingers. And keeping that back beat with sticks in hand, we have Dylan on drums. This three piece will have you shakin’ all over!
Originally founded as a two piece in early 2013 by two audio engineer graduates, Azimuth (an astronomical term used to pinpoint the location of celestial bodies in the sky), was created with the intention of bringing an artistic statement back to music in a world nowadays proliferated by social media, abuse of technology, and urban decay.
The majority of the music is composed and arranged by guitarist/vocalist Greg Luyben, with contributions from drummer Kurtis Hoekstra. Greg’s introspective lyrics of societal decay, humanity, space, time, madness and addiction are given a life of their own with influences ranging from folk to hard rock to punk and even full out heavy metal. This is a band that has nothing to hide and only a message to spread.
A boot-stomping, whiskey-hollering hoe-down full of sea chanteys and drinking hymns, Crowd the Joanna formed in Kelowna during the great depression of 2012.
“…this band is a rock riot — their tone and brutal presence of Folk/Bluegrass inspired music is genius. Not only is it rowdy and celebrated, the band combines an easy listening tone with gritty punk roots.” – Jeff Stychin, Awesome Okanagan
“Best-darn root tootin’ foot stompers in the Okanagan Valley.” -Jim Reiner
Greg Rekus is on tour with his new album Punkoustic. Come stomp your feet and drink your heart out. Also The Manual Scavengers will be keeping the party going all night. (Due to unforeseen circumstances Crowd the Joanna can no longer play this show)
